When Puma Ocean Racing decided to build a new boat for the 2011 Volvo Around the World race, part of the decision process was the selection of the equipment used on the boat. The decision on batteries was simple. Energy1 was the first and only choice.

This Project began 2011, in Santa Clara, California, This data center houses 16 MTU – 16V 4000, Rated at 2250 Kw Standby, 600 Volts, 3 Phase, 60 Hz, 1800 R.P.M., with a combined rating of 36,000 Kw of Standby power.

Two (2) MTU- 16V 4000, Rated at 2000 KW Stanby, 4160 Volts, 3 Phase, 60 Hz, 1800 R.P.M. These units were installed in April, 2011 in a data center located in Northern Virginia. They added to the existing 12 MTU units on site, with a combined rating of 24000 Kw.
