Jim Martin

Territory Manager

Jim Martin, a native of Salem, VA, has been employed by Western Branch Diesel, Inc. since March 1998.  A 1987 graduate of Salem High School, he began college at Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA, before transferring to Roanoke College in Salem, VA, after his freshman year.  He graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.  After a four year stint in the United States Marine Corps as a supply administrator he first began his sales career as a copier salesman with Pitney Bowes, before selling for Zep Manufacturing.  In March 1998 Jim began as Territory Manager of On-Highway Sales for Western Branch Diesel, Inc.

In October 2003 Jim moved to the Off-Highway Group as Territory Manager of Off-Highway Sales.  Jim concentrated on the Construction and Industrial (C&I) segment of the off-highway market, and then in February of 2004 he added power generation to his responsibilities.  After a little over a year Jim returned his focus to the C&I industry.

In October 2009, Jim re-joined the Power Generation Division along with his C&I duties.

Jim is a member of the Kentucky Coal Association where he sits on the Membership Committee, Kentucky Oil & Gas Association and the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance where he has been a member of the Associate Leadership Committee since 2009.  Jim is now a member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance

Jim’s hobbies include golf and coaching his daughters in recreational sports.
