John Poissant

Branch Service Manager

John came to work for Western Branch in 1979 as a road service technician. He served the Volvo Plant in Dublin Virginia as well as many off highway customers. During that time many Detroit Diesel and Allison products were being used in the manufacturing of Volvo trucks. After years as a road service tech, he was promoted to Shop Foreman.  In this role John dealt daily with troubleshooting and repairing our product lines, helping customers and educating shop personnel. Also during this time he gained a wealth of knowledge from formal factory training and practical experiences on the shop floor.

John’s next role was Product Support Manager, serving a large area of responsibility covering 3 states and sometimes more. Part of this role was to educate potential customers and update and expand our existing customer base. Also within this role he shared knowledge of the new and current product lines as well as their constant changes and product improvements. This included training maintenance personnel about diagnosis and troubleshooting along with driver training. This was an exciting challenge keeping up with all of the evolving changes due to EPA and product improvements.

Lastly, John has been promoted from Product Support Manager to Service Manager where he gets to blend his product knowledge and people skills to handle day to day branch operations.  He enjoys taking care of our customer concerns in an ever changing business atmosphere.
