About CVG

The history of Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) began with the formation of Trim Systems in 1997. At that time, Trim Systems was the result of the acquisition and merging of ASC and Landmark Industries.  Mervin Dunn, CVG’s CEO, joined Trim Systems in 1999. Under his leadership Trim Systems strengthened its bottom line performance by improving quality, delivery and customer service.  That allowed Trim Systems to grow through the acquisition of National Seating, KAB Seating and Sprague Devices in 2000.  In August of 2004, the management team took the company public and changed the name from Trim Systems to the Commercial Vehicle Group.  Over the last 10 years, continuing growth was achieved organically and though additional global acquisitions such as Monona Wire in the United States and Mexico, C.I. E. B. and PEKM in the Czech Republic, and Stratos Seating in Australia. CVG has an expanding global presence, with locations including; Australia, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, India, Mexico, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

According to APG, its system is a cost effective and non-invasive patented turbocharged natural gas dual fuel conversion technology for diesel engine trucks. APG says its system is currently EPA approved for 88 engine families and is expected to receive EPA approval for more than 200 more engine families by the end of 2013.

The APG system also offers the flexibility to return the vehicle to 100 percent diesel operation at any time, the company says, and the APG system and natural gas tank can be removed and installed on another EPA approved engine if necessary.

Ron Frye

Ron Frye retires after 39 years of working for the WBD S. Charleston service department. He is joined at his retirement party by his wife, Anita.

This thoughtful memento was presented to Ron by representatives of Apogee Coal. It is a large block of coal that was sealed, hand painted and personalized for Ron’s retirement. Ron worked on-site at the mine and was highly regarded by their personnel.

We are proud to announce the hiring of our new Territory Manager for Richmond, North Carolina, Mr. Bruce Rae. Bruce has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with High Distinction from the University of Virginia. He was on the Dean’s list for 7 of 8 semesters and received Intermediate Honors after second year. He has experience in the power generation industry from working with Cummins Atlantic, as well as sales experience from Fidelity Engineering and Morton Buildings in Richmond. We feel he has a lot to offer our team as we move forward in being the Power Generation Leader!
